Starting smaller with Hauser is interesting,

Sam Hauser has averaged 15.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 8 games as a starter in his career.

That surprised the heck out of me.

I don't think he starts unless Maz wants Tatum to play the four.

Brogdon is a better shooter than Hauser and provides more other skills. Not sure why Hauser would start over him if the team was going small

Brogdon's surplus skill is on ball, and in that starting unit he wouldn't get as much of that. Its one the the reasons he started literally 0 games last year, they steadfastly avoided it even with injuries.
the team also had Smart

most of the games he started he was playing SG with White, Tatum or Brown, and 2 bigs

Completely agree with Mo. it would be pretty darn insulting to start hauser over brogdon (or white). White, brogdon and white are all similar level players so none of them will be super upset coming off the bench for each other. Hauser is basically a vet min guy, not exactly a young prospect. Starting him over a 20 million a year guy (not considered a bad contract either) would potentially destroy team chemistry like the rozier Irving Morris year.

I'd say

White/Brown/Tatum/Porzingis/Williams

Let Tatum play SF and Brown play SG

I know we are going to play double bugs a lot this year which is great. However Rob played 35 regular season games last year and AL is getting older and can't play back to backs.

I think most here would agree that if healthy this may be our best five, closing five.  Certainly the best offensive five.

Porzingis
Tatum
Brown
Brogdon
White

Looks great on paper. So let's say we do roll out this starting five for a good chunk of the regular season.  How flawed is the roster as it stands. This puts Prichard in a fairly huge role Giving him big minutes.

Dare I say Davidson or Dalano Blanton would be getting third string reps at PG. Is that crazy? Do we have to get a serviceable guard if that five is playing major minutes together.

When the entire roster is healthy this is how I suspect the minutes to be broken out.

1   Tatum   36
2   Brown   36
3   White   35
4   KP           32
5   Rob           25
6   AL           26
7   Brogdon   26
8   Brissett   14
9   PP           10

The roster as its currently constructed projects to play a decent amount of 2 big lineups. I agree with the OP on Tatum,Brown, White, Brogdon, and KP and a likely closing lineup.

As things currently sit any injury to the top 7 would likely mean a bump up in minutes to Brissett and/or PP with Hauser, Walsh, and Banton all pushing to crack the rotation.

Stevens, said during the summer league game "I think we’ll try to add obviously a little bit,” Stevens said. “I’d like to get a little more depth, maybe on the wing, and then also maybe with a 4/3 type. I feel pretty good about our bigs. We’ve got a couple two ways, so we’ve got some things we’re still very much looking at.”  I could see them bringing in JaMychal Green as a 4/3 type to plug into the rotation if KP,AL, or Rob misses time.
