I am amazed by the fact that we are absolutely fine with guys like Young, Harden, James, Curry or whoever just switching on Horford and living with the results.

Why is this something that is not addressed for the second consecutive year??

It is unacceptable to let our 37 year old veteran big be relied upon to play solid defense and actually make a difference on the last possessions in a playoff game.

This is correct, but this is also something that is a known quantity, and ideally something that should have been accounted for in constructing the roster. It’s not as if Al’s age, or his managed decline, is a secret.

In other words, perhaps the problem is that our 37 year old veteran is the best option, since it seems that no one who was available to us can slide into that role as well as Horford can.
