7'4" 285 pounds. 20 years old. Like Danny played basketball, also Hockey and Volleyball. A good all around athlete. Throws a baseball better than many can.
20 ppg and 12 rpg 2bpg and shooting 73% from the line. 60% from the fields. Zach Edey players of the year. Brad would be insane to pass on him with our first 2nd round pick.
This kid is unstopable down low and getting better quickly.
I agree that this draft the Cs really should come away with a big man prospect. I would also go as fare as to package Pritchard and 2nd round pick to target one. I do like Edey and think he will carve out a NBA career some where but I do not think Boston will be that place. While he is a much better prospect then Taco they both are super sized bigs who for better and for worst dictate how their team must play in order to cover for their lack of mobility and take advantage of their size. A less established rebuilding team or one that already play with a less mobile 5 could find Edey to be a 2nd round steal. As for Boston I think this draft has a few better stylistic fits who will have a more seamless transition into the Celtics system.
Adem Bona UCLA, his stat line is underwhelming but he plays with a great motor and has elite mobility for a 5. He started playing basketball older then most players and is still early in his development but he has the physical tools and the motor to be developed into an elite defensive 5. He would be destine for a season in Maine but could pay off big time long term.
Azuolas Tubelis Arizona, he strikes he as a very Muscala like well rounded big who will be able to pass and shoot well enough to incorporate into the Celtics offensively. Defensively while he will never be a high ceiling defender he does currently play PF and appears to move well enough to not be a liability on that end of the court.
Trayce Jackson-Davis Indiana, he is a statistical outlier who is putting up numbers comparable to senior year Tim Duncan (pts, rb,blk, and ast). While he doesn't have elite size or athleticism he is incredibly productive and in many ways physically reminds me of Al Horford. Like AL he would have been a PF 20 years ago but not finds himself as a 6'9 versatile 5. He is an older prospect but one that I am confident is NBA ready and could actually push Muscala and Kornet for minutes as a rookie.
Hunter Dickinson Michigan, I am less enthusiastic about his ceiling but see him as a solid long term backup in the Aaron Baynes mold. His ability to shoot 3s could make him a nice fit playing Kornet's role but with a much stronger frame.
