I've got a few words on Nesmith - ten, actually.

Cole Anthony
Isaiah Stewart
Saddiq Bey
Tyrese Maxey
Precious Achiuwa

I liked Nesmith; he was the guy I was rooting for.  I thought the Celts would take Maxey, and my second choice was Bey.

But, the only major regret I have with that pick is that we didn't trade up to get Haliburton.  I'd love to know whether we tried, and how much we offered.
The Celtics got incredibly lucky with the Brooklyn picks and incredibly unlucky with those Sacramento/Memphis picks. If that Grizzlies team had just been a little bit worse...

We should've let the Grizz pick for us. They made some really good late round picks!

What are your thoughts on Nesmith's play this season?

He's had a pretty nice December.  Almost 50% from the field, 38% from three, 100% from the FT line.  11ppg in 23mpg.

While I'm more than happy with Brogdon, it looks like Nesmith might be a nice pickup for the Pacers.

Glad to see he’s found his shooting form again, and he’s still hyper-athletic (dunked over Jarrett Allen last night).  The change of scenery has definitely helped him, although I’ve also seen him continue to get lost on defense the couple games of the Pacers I’ve peeked at this season.

It was a good trade for both teams.  We each got what we needed.

This "redraft" article was written last summer, so I imagine SI might make some changes to this based on the first part of this season.

But the only players drafted after Nesmith that they would have taken at 14 instead are:

Jaden McDaniels
Immanuel Quickley
Cole Anthony
Tyrese Maxey
Desmond Bane
Saddiq Bey

I believe at the time, only Anthony and Bey were considered at that point in the draft.  Maxey may have been in the conversation for a pick at the end of the lottery but not sure about that.  Quickley, Mcdaniels and Bane were not considered good enough for a late lottery pick.

Glad to see Nesmith making strides.  so is Romeo in SA.  hoping they have good careers if for no other reason to end the argument by a few that Danny can't draft.  ::)

I would love to see Nesmith come back as a Celtic at some point in his career. I always loved the athleticism and energy he showed when given the chance to play.

He’s in the right place for him at this point in his career. He’s not on a championship team so he can develop with other young players as opposed to having a very high bar to exceed at the Celtics. Same with Langford at the Spurs. They would not have got the minutes they’re getting now had they still been with the Cs, and they would have been worse off in the end. Same with Bol Bol, these players were all the wrong fit for our team at that point in time.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

He did have a game where he knocked down 5 threes this season (and hit 4 threes twice). He's up to 36% on the season. His energy is still great, if he can ever be the consistent shooter he was supposed to be he'll have a place in the league for a long time.

I don’t like looking back. There was going to be a chance that Romeo and/or Aaron would have a nice career. May happen, may not.  Both moves were good at the time. Same idea for Payton if they trade him.

Good for Nesmith and I wish him well. He has a chance to be a solid role player, but I think the things that will limit him are his balk handling and his defensive awareness. wouldn’t have made sense to retain him at this stage of his career unless he was absolutely lighting it up from 3, and he wasn’t.
