“My ankle is feeling better, it’s still healing, so I’m dealing with that,” explained the Oklahoma State product.

“(I’m) just giving it as much rest as I can, but definitely back on the court. I’m definitely back into the action. It feels like yesterday we just started playing, we haven’t really missed a beat, but I’m definitely doing everything I can to be ready for next season and to go deeper. I’m pretty close (to 100%) —  it’s September, You don’t want to be in June, July, May shape right now so I’m trying not to go too crazy, but I’m really close and I’ve been doing this going into my ninth season.”

Wonderful. I just love going into the season with guys less than 100%.

That was a gruesome injury---thought he was done, Marcus showed a lot by playing through it. He would have probably missed 6 weeks in the regular season.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

With all of the potential for injury to main unit, I don’t understand why Brad has filled out the bench with G-leaguers and busts.

He says he is almost 100%, is on the court and working toward the season. He'll be good to go. I wouldn't worry about Marcus.

I don’t know how injuries aren’t a constant concern for all Celtics fans. Smart gets hurt a lot. Rob gets hurt a lot. Tatum is a bit on the thin side and ended last season all banged up. And just about every season since the ‘08 title has been in large part derailed by injuries. In fact, if I had to choose what’s been the biggest theme/story for the Celtics over the last 14 years, I’d say injuries.

I’m with you. Seems like every other legit contender mostly has established vets coming off the bench.

If you think about it though, until last week we had 3 vets coming off the bench - Brogdon, Gallo and White. Those three could easily start for many other teams. Obviously Gallo got injured. Unless you're talking about the deep bench (spots 9-12) and fill it with old vet min guys instead of young'uns?
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Yeah. Because there will be injuries, and that can lead to having guys like Kornet and Hauser on the second unit, which is not good enough. And even though White is a good player overall, his scoring and shooting were pretty bad for most of his time with Boston last season, so that limits his impact.
