The 2022 Championship was Steph-Klay-Draymond’s favorite; they already won the title with Wiggins, Poole/Moody, Kuminga, and Wiseman on the roster (they’re supposed to mortgage their future like some Championship barren wasteland); and KD left to build his own squad because he didn’t get any credit.
All parties except for the Nets FO would heavily discourage even the mention of such an offer. Which, now that I think about it, means that they are the ones that floated this fake proposal to up the ante on trade packages. Crazy that this “proposal” got the traction it got.
There will be plenty of these coming up every day as people fire up their trade machines and post their ideas on Twitter and on forums like this. The KD news is a TLE (Trump Level Event) for media and fans, because it gives everyone juicy fodder to talk about for the next year or whenever it gets finalized, and then after. It's not every day a disgruntled superstar asks for a trade out of a toxic situation with 4 years on his contract.
That 4 years gives the Nets plenty of time by the way. They don't have to pull the trigger on anything right now. I doubt KD would pull a Simmons and fake injury to not play, he's a professional. I think he would do what AD did until the Fakers got desperate enough to sell the farm for him.
This one makes the most sense from a NBA2K point of view, because both teams are getting good assets in return...Nets getting some great young players, the Dubs getting an aging superstar for a last hurrah at a couple more championships. But that's before looking at the personalities and motivations and things like that.
