Two sidekicks don’t make a leader. This is definitely personified with Durant and Irving. Neither one has illustrated any semblance of leadership or poise in adversity.

Durant ran away from Westbrook & Oklahoma when things got hard. He joined a super team instead of creating his own legacy, then runs away when adversity hits again. He joins Brooklyn because of Irving, again not wanting to be the face of a franchise.

I thought Durant handled the loss quite graciously....

Loved last night's gone fishing scene...they do a good job on that show.

I think Boston is a better team...there was nothing Durant could have done...I think the willing one's team to victory due to being a superstar thing is overstated...

The final few seconds of Game 4 perfectly illustrates my point.

Durant chokes on his second free-throw, completely unacceptable for the shooter he is and the superstar status he craves.

Durant then slowly runs back on Smart’s fast break which shows his lack of desire and what makes it worse is that Smart’s shot misses and Durant should have been in position for the rebound, instead it falls to Horford.

I hope the Nets reload in the off-season and I expect they will. That way when the C’s beat them next year there won’t be any excuses. Will be interesting to see what happens with Kyrie as he has a player option for next season. Only players under contract are KD, Kyrie(P-option), Simmons, Harris, Curry, Mills(P-Option), Thomas, Sharpe,  Edwards(T-Option)

Kyrie, Harris, Durant, Simmons, FA C is going to be a top 3 team in the East, if healthy. Look forward to this  rivalry.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I didn't expect Durant to win this series for his team but I did expect a better showing from him.

He was very quiet ... for such a gifted player.

The C’s defense on him was incredible. Durant mentioned in one of the postgame interviews that the C’s are tough to deal with since the smallest guy in their starting lineup is Smart at 6’4”, which allows them to switch so effectively.

I haven’t seen a defense this elite since the 2004 Pistons.

The series net margin understates the dominance we had. We gave away three second-half double-digit leads to make this close series look even closer than it was (something Ime needs to fix as he was partially to blame). A sweep is a sweep regardless and Durant got little help from Robin Robbing.

We won by an average margin of 5 points per game.  That is not that much.  You usually see a more decisive victory or two along the way, especially in a sweep.  But yes, we were consistently better every game and nearly every quarter.  That is equally rare.

I guess my impression is that the difference between the Celtics and the Nets is quite a bit less than you would expect when one team just swept the other team in the first round.

Also true is the point that Kyrie and Durant are supposed to be big stars but they were not able in any of the games to come up big at the end and carry the Nets to a win.  It is not that you expect the stars to carry the water through the entire game, every game, but you do expect them to "take over" when it matters most.  They were not able to do that, even once in four games.
