Plenty of posters were upset when we dumped him to Dallas. The game has come a long way since the emergence of the pace-and-space era. Slow-footed 7'2'' behemoths who cannot stretch the floor aren't starting material anymore. Best case scenario, he's a serviceable backup. Only exception is probably Gobert, but a) he's relatively mobile for his size and b)he has a ridiculous 7' 8.5'' wingspan!

Brown is 7' 2.5'' w/o shoes. Gobert is 7'0.5'' which isn't all that outrageous. I just don't think Brown will ever become mobile enough for the modern game. Being super tall is actually a disadvantage in today's NBA.

Rather have him than Fernando, Hernangomez, and probably Parker.

And he is at least producing in his limited minutes.  I mean his WS/48 are 0.172, which is actually pretty good (Hernangomez and Fernando are actually negative).
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I’d rather have him than half our roster. Then again, I’d rather have a chair than half our roster because it’s hot garbage.

Everyone is being a little snarking on poor Moses Brown but I was happy when he was included in the Horford trade.  He had put up multiple 20/20 games.  There is clearly some potential there, but he is also a project.  Being a project isn't such a bad thing.  Rob Williams was a project, heck, Giannis was a project at one point also.

I was also very happy when we were able to trade Moses Brown for JRich.  Easy come, easy go.  I predict that Moses Brown will be around the NBA for a while.  You never know how much potential will actually be realized but that is the point, you never know.
