Delonte is suffering from a mental health disorder along with his substance abuse issues.  I feel for the man, even if prior efforts to help haven’t worked.

when does it stop being news?

I would guess he’s gone through a lot that hasn’t made news.  I don’t know any of the specifics about his mental health issues  including substance use disorder but I hope he can get to a better place and be able to sustain it.
