The scrubs need representation too.

They probably need it a lot more than the star players do.  It makes sense to me to have a non-star in this kind of role.

Last year the VP was Kyrie Irving, I can only guess the job he did...

Kyrie was not "the" VP last year, he was "a" VP.

Along with Jaylen, Biyombo, Brogdon, McCollum, and Garret Temple, and below "First VP" Iggy and Secretary-Treasurer Harrison Barnes. Iggy is the real VP, but they just give everyone the title VP because reasons.
So glad it's nice and straightforward
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Good to hear. By all accounts, Grant is a bright young man. Seems like a very likeable guy as well. That said, I don't think he'll be in the league for much longer. I'm not even sure we'll pick up his 2022/23 team option tbh.

That's one way to stick in the NBA.  Legitimate, too.

I wonder if Grant being the Celtics rep is a sign the team sees him as being around all year, maybe longer. I know that would make many on this blog angry, as they were hoping he would be moved before the season.

For me not angry, just see them as a bit pointless to keep? Previously there were discussions about how cheap he was and what not, but right now Grant Williams + Carsen Edwards' contracts prevent us from using the full non-taxpayer MLE. Just the same we can move Kris Dunn, but now you can see that these cheap contracts have consequences on our roster potential. Just the same, at this point of free-agency hard to see many options that would be worth using the non-taxpayer on.

As always, we can throw in a 2nd rounder to dump them if needed be...

Some targets if there's mutual interest could be Paul Millsap, Lauri Markkanen (though probably would need a S&T), and Dennis Schroder (not a fan tough, but worth the price).

There are no implication of this on Grant's career as it is a one-year appointment.  It's not even up to C's management but the players:
