How can team owners protect their team interests?

With the investigation of suspected "tampering" the trade between the Pelicans, Bulls and Raptors. We've seen a team got severely punished before because of this malpractice. But as team owners, how will you protect your assert (players) from being tampered.

It's illegal when management does the recruiting but players can just outright recruit their pals from other team and force a trade or leave teams that invested on them hanging dry.

Yeah..the entire thing is dumb…tampering rules should be abolished. As long as the salary cap is in place teams should be free to talk to players at anytime. The more disturbing practice is the abuse of the salary cap with superstars taking less money.
