Short free agency window.  It will be interesting to see how Olympic free agents, such as Fournier, handle negotiations.  Do they move quickly or wait until they're finished?  The quarterfinals start August 2nd, same as the negotiating window, and the gold medal game is August 6th, same as signing day.

That's why those guys have agents. Being in Tokyo isn't going to stop negotiations and deals from happening. The introductory presser will just have to be a bit later than normal...possibly.

For sure that’s why they have agents, but at the same time if you’re a high-level player who’s at all concerned about how you fit into a team’s plans, it could be a bit harder to make that decision if you’re also focused on prepping for a medal round game.
