If I’m Brad I listen intently on what Tatum aspires to create. It’s fairly clear that playing with Beal is desirable if not likely. Tatum has the potential to attract Beal here without losing any assets given this linkage. In the next 2 weeks we’ll learn about Beals intentions. If he opts to become an unrestricted free agent, Boston has to be considered the leader in the clubhouse.

I could easily see Brown being traded for another target (Dame) as move #1 and move #2 is simply attracting Beal to Boston given Tatums input into team design and his desire to link with Beal at some stage in his career.

Let’s face it, this is a players league and I think we need to pay close attn to JT’s wishes.

We could be competing with the following team the season after next:

Smart
Lillard
Beal
Tatum
Williams III

Bench: Horford, Fournier, Pritchard, Nesmith, Brown, Langford*

*some of these pieces would of course go with Jaylen in support of Dame trade.

Beal for Brown is not a trade Brad is going to make.  Washington doesn't have any assets that they're going to give up that would move the needle on this either.  We also can't sign him if he opts out, as even if we traded Smart & TT for a pick we'd only be moving $22 million.  So having all three of them is impossible and we're again not trading Brown for Beal.

Lots of convoluted, unrealistic and impossible stuff by the OP in this thread.

Best case scenario, Beal demands to be traded to Boston and Stevens only has to trade matching salary(Smart/TT/+) that isn't the Jays and some draft picks.

I am also not a fan of the Beal/Tatum fit, especially alongside Jaylen. Both are #1 scoring guys that demand the ball and haven't exactly shown any willingness to sacrifice shots for the better good of the team. Will all three guys be okay with shooting around 17-18 shots a game, limiting their scoring to the 23-24 point max, instead of averaging 27-30 PPG? Tatum seemed to be concerned with numbers when he talked about his All-NBA snub. Not sure he wants to take a lesser role.
