He’s a UFA, many speculate he may go to 76ers, but this Celtics team could be a better fit.

He’s 35, but aging really well, posted 17/7/5 last year. Don’t know what it takes to land him, do we have enough money if we want to sign Evan Fournier too?

I’d let Fournier walk if it meant we would get Lowry.

I don’t think he’d come here though.  Philkys gonna nab him

He might be THE perfect addition to this team.

And it might be a perfect scenario which allows us to attract him. He could continue to get regular starter minutes (25mpg) and from a salary standpoint would the Full MLE ($9.5ish) do it given the stage of career he is at?

A great mentor for Payton Pritchard also.

Love the idea. TP

I'm not a cap expert, but my understanding is that we could only get him via trade. There is no way we could sign him.

Lowry is a free agent and so is Fournier.

So, as far as I understand, to make this work, Lowry and the C's would have to agree to terms and want to do this, and Fournier and Toronto would have to agree to terms and want to do this.

Toronto would also have to want Tristan Thompson, and possibly some additional filler. And have no other teams lure either Lowry or Fournier with a better offer. Then I think Lowry could sign a deal with Toronto, Fournier could sign with Boston, then we could make the deal.

So, it is possible but extremely unlikely.

What will Lowry attract for a contract? He's 35. Both money and years are a big deal. He could probably get $25M for one year, but that would go down fast for a multi-year deal.

I'd pass on him. Because of his age, he's a solution for a  team that is absolutely ready to make a title run. I think we would still need one more player, and hope that Tatum and Brown go up one more level.

I don’t think that is the only implication. There are far more capologists on here but I think a sign and trade hard caps us meaning we wouldn’t have the MLE to use.

Lowry might be worth that implication... don’t get me wrong.

I can’t see it. I think that he would end up with the Sixers, Heat, Lakers or Clippers first, if he wants a reduced contract.
