Boston gets Beal, Lopez, Gafford and picks and swaps for Kemba, Langford, TIMELORD. Complete rebuild mode for The Wiz and a talent restock for the Celtics.

Works in trade machine but only really works if Beal forces his way to Boston.

I think if TIMELORD and Langford or some of the picks pan out it's a solid trade for Washington and it's more than Houston got for HARDEN.

The Celtics could also grab Beal after next year for nothing if they can clear the cap space.

As you say, dependent on Beal demanding out. I'm not sure we'd be able to squeeze Gafford out of them, he was playing really elite role-player minutes for Washington
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

This is the easiest path if we don’t resign Fournier this summer.  Moving the last year of Kemba’s deal would be much easier, and it’s not impossible he opts out if he plays reasonably well next season.

They have Thomas Bryant coming back.

We could also take Bertans off their hands and make it Beal and Bertans for TIMELORD, Kemba, Langford, and picks. They unload an unwanted contract and we get another shooter.

TIMELORD is a giant step over Gafford.

Beal seems like the guy.

Bryant is a terrible defender coming off a massive injury. Gafford is a strong defender. I'd keep both and play them 24MPG each if I were Washington. Not worth trading Gafford, he's too promising

I think somebody posted something similar in another thread, but I was thinking about a following trade:
1) Kemba, Smart, Thompson + 2 fillers (preferably G.Williams and Edwards) and a handful of picks and swaps for Westbrook and Beal.
OR
2) Siakam + OG for the same package as above minus Smart, if Raptors decided to rebuild.
It works in the trade machine, but I doubt it would work in real life :) I also think I like the second option more because of the fit around Jays, but would be happy with either.

If that's all it costs for Beal, I'd swing this trade in a heartbeat but I have a feeling they will insist on taking Jaylen Brown.

I'd rather our 'all-in' trade be for a big or at least somebody who can play small-ball Center. While Tatum, Brown, and Beal are all extremely talented, there seems to be way too much redundancy with that group. I don't think Kemba is better than Beal, but he at least provides a completely different option on offense (lightning quick, solid distributor)

I love the idea of Siakam, but we don't get anywhere close with the package you proposed. Not quite sure how to get there without including Jaylen, and trading Jaylen would be at best a sideways move.

Given what Houston got for Harden, there is no way Brown is moved for Beal and Washington really shouldn't fool themselves into thinking they should land Brown for Beal.

If Beal is coming here it's for Kemba(and other assets) with Kemba possibly landing elsewhere in a 3-way deal.

Nobody is going to pay him as much as he's guaranteed to make by exercising the last year of that contract.

I mean, you said it yourself.  Only really works if Beal is forcing his way out and names Boston as his desired destination.

Or we clear the decks for 2022 when Beal is a free agent.
