If Brad got so worn down by the past year. Think what adjustments players have gone through especially the rookies and young guys. There was the replacing summer league with a summer of bubble playoffs with no fans, BLM and the realities of systemic racism, shortened training camp and pre season..The number of injuries, the compressed schedule,.The Covid quarantines the lockdowns and the actual contracting Covid and its side effects.
Lack of continuity .
The rioting  and Trump
,Kembas knee, the addition of Teague and Tristian Thompson  the trading of Daniel Theis. The Timelords injuries the addition of Fournier and his quarantine and then the contracting of Covid and the side effect.
The election and Trumps actions leading up to the insurrection.
This was a season to forget and get over with.
The fact the team held together was a testament of the Celtics organization. The loss of Jaylen Brown for playoffs and drawing the Nets.
Now its overhaul time and the team loses its coach and legend GM retires.
Adam Silver should have called off the season.

I always appreciate your posts, Rollie. Among my favorite posters on here. Regarding cancelling the season, there was way too much money at stake, and no other league did so. Once the NFL pulled off an entire season without a bubble (a mistake IMHO considering the effects associated with that decisjon), our hand was forced.

I think Rollie makes a fair point.  It was a tough season on players and especially young players and rookies (on all teams).  Politics aside, there was no summer league and really no preseason.  The season was compressed so there were more games, fewer days off, and less in season practice.  None of this is good for any player or coach.  It is kind of amazing that someone like Pritchard did so well so early but even he hit the wall in the end.

Now as to the potential distractions of politics and BLM and the Capitol Bldg riot/insurrection/protest (pick your descriptor) I can't say what impact that may have had on players, young or otherwise.  I just don't know.  Overall COVID, this impacted some players directly but likely impacted most players indirectly in one form or another.  I think it is a fair point but not exclusive to the Celtics.

'Insurrection'  'systemic racism' and Trump was so bad, it made playing pro basketball hard!
