Since this thread was made, Kemba is 20-6-6 on 47/34/91 and the team is 6-0 when he plays. He's sat once and the team lost.

He's still a starter, btw.

Lol.  If players are sending gratuities for threads that worked as a reverse jinx, Terry Rozier owes me a big one.  I called him out a few years back, and the guy basically started playing like a star immediately afterward.

It’s one of the few areas where eating crow feels good.  It’s better to have the team succeed rather than being “right”.

I’ve got a million wrong but god I loved Rozier here. Once we had that pattern of just playing better when Kyrie sat I just thought back to that length on the perimeter of him with JT and JB. Rozier stayed so within his role when he was consistently starting. Of course we more ran the offense as through Horford but I would love to see the  lineup of
 Rozier
JB
Hayward
JT
RW  and we run the offense through Hayward.

Not sure how a thread about Kemba morphed into a discussion about Rozier but I guess they were kind of traded for each other.

Anyway, I don't see the value in trying to compare Kemba to Rozier.  I see Rozier more comparable to Marcus Smart.  Rozier can put up some flashy numbers but he is no Kemba Walker.  Walker is an all star, maybe not post injury but certainly was at the time of the "trade".  Rozier just is not that level of player.

I can see the criticism of Walker's contract, it's a big number, but I don't feel we would be better, even relative to the post injury Kemba, if we had Rozier.  And if you did want to play with a different type of PG, we could just play Smart.

Yeah I didnt. For every good 4th quarter he had, he had way worst 3 quarters. Same as the home games in the playoffs, a more horrible road game right after. Oh except for that last home game vs the Cavs. That was.. well let's just put it as garbage.

Kemba will be benched for the next 2 games, not by choice...he's apparently injured himself that last game vs Charlotte. Oblique strain.

Quote
Celtics guard Kemba Walker will miss the next two games with an oblique strain, according to Brad Stevens.

Walker pulled up grimacing and holding his side after closing out to defend a 3-pointer in the first half of Sunday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets. He ran straight to the locker room but returned shortly afterward and re-entered the game. Walker finished with 20 points on 7-for-17 shooting.

On Tuesday, however, Stevens announced that Walker’s issue will require a little extra recovery.
“We’re hopeful, we’re going to reevaluate him Thursday, but he’s got a strain on that side,” Stevens said. “He got some imaging done. So he’s definitely out the next two.”
