ESPN - Langford 1 of 6 underrated prospects that could thrive with a change

I think it's incredibly generous of anyone to call Langford underrated OR a mystery.

If anyone feels that way... They should be the person Danny Ainge calls up to offer the trade to.

The Jury is in on Langford: he's soft, injury prone, and doesn't have a jumpshot.  Trade him for whatever value you can get before anyone else realizes this is who he really is.

Unless that value equates to late lotto pick, then it's better to see what he actually can offer first. It would be foolish to give him up for scraps just as he is getting healthy and about to make his return. Like, we waited this long.

To make matters worse he's on a roster that also has Tatum, Brown, Smart, Kemba, Pritchard and Fournier.  That's 6 perimeter guys ahead of him in the rotation who probably aren't going anywhere anytime soon.  So even if he had potential (which I still maintain he doesn't) he'll unlikely get the opportunity to show it.

Rozier struggled for 3-4 years trying to get serious minutes on this team and he showed infinitely more talent then then anything I've seen from Langford

How can Langford be underrated? He has only played like 20mintes in 3 seasons.

He is G-League talent until proven otherwise.

I’m only frustrated because with each passing day the odds of Romeo being a good player for a different team are a lot higher than him being a good player and staying with the Celtics.

I seriously doubt he will ever be a good player for any team.  He's looks like one of the top 5 least talented players to make a Celtic roster the past decade every time he's gotten on the floor.  He's been completely useless and has shown me absolutely zero flashes of upside.

Taco looks about 100x more promising right now then Langford does, and that's not saying much.

Have you ever watched him play defence? Numerous people who are paid a lot more than any of us to make gambles over a player's upside rate his quite highly.

I actually never thought Bradley would be a bust.  I always liked him.  Even when his offense was very green and basic he won me over with his athleticism and with a level of defensive intensity that since then to this day I still haven't seen a single other Celtic come close to matching.  I saw he had a very special talent as a defensive player that was far above and beyond most guys in the NBA, and any time a guy displays an elite talent to that level he usually has something going for him. 

Langford has NOTHING on Bradley defensively based on what Ive seen so far.  Like...so far apart that it's comparing the two is a serious insult to AB.

I'm going to make a bold prediction right here, right now - Romeo Langford will never average >20 MPG in a season while wearing a Celtics uniform.

You mean like the (probably) 97% of all professoinal scounts who in sisted that Markelle Fultz easily the best player in his draft and was practically a guaranteed superstar?

Or do you mean the countless number of professionals who swore that Dragan Bender would be the next Porzingis while I was telling everybody that he looked totally lost?

You speak about this as if these "professionals" have unflappable wisdom and never get it wrong.  They get it wrong A LOT.

But I agree 100% with the rest of the comments.   There is some irrational optimism based on a whole lot of nothing given what we've see thus far.

The lottery pick for our guy is beyond lubricious.   If we had better talent to offer we would have got Gordon and Fournier.    We 'd be lucky to get a second rounder for some of our guys.

Optimism is based on the fact that Danny drafted him relatively recently. Celtics fans always think Danny drafted a gem. They are wrong almost always but were right in timelord’s case and I was wrong lol
