What if we go all in for the off season. Trade Kemba for some nice picks or low salary guys, clear cap space, sign John Collins to a deal large enough to take him out of Atlanta. I know there’s a lot of mixed feelings on Collins but building around Jaylen, Jayson and John (triple J) would be fun. Keep Rob Williams as well and a few of our young guys, sign a couple of solid vets and that’s pretty close to be a contender depending on fit and chemistry. What does anyone think?

My idea for the offseason is to fire Danny Ainge if he doesn't get us a good player via the buyout market.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

I think John Collins isn't walking through that door,  JK

What is the big obsession people have with Collins here? Not being critical, just genuinely curious.

I haven't watched him play, but I checked out game highlights the other day and all I seemed to be seeing over and over again was dunks and spot-up threes.  Also was a bit concerned by his frame, as he looks pretty small and slight compared to other bigs on the court.

What other skills does he have other then dunks / spot up threes?

I know he's only 23, and that he's been putting up numbers in the ballpark of 19/9 since his second season - and that's certainly impressive.  But he's also been playing on one of the worst teams in the league, so not sure how much faith to put in that.

Again not criticising, just trying to get a better understanding of him as a player from those who may be more familiar with his game.

I've already posted this idea numerous times:

Trade Brown on draft night for Cade Cunningham + salary filler(s)

Kemba - Fournier - Cunningham - Tatum - Thompson

(with Cunningham running the point in the half court)

Ideally, I'd also want us to dump Kemba without sacrificing future assets. The closer he gets to the final year of his contract, the easier it becomes to dump him.

I fully believe Cunningham will become a better player than Brown. Probably better than Tatum as well. He can do everything Tatum does, plus he's a better passer and ball handler. He's even a bit longer.

I'm disappointed over yesterday's moves. Not a fan of Fournier's game. I'm relatively high on Wagner, but I believe we should have gotten better value for Theis.

There is a chance that out of 29 other GMs in this league at least one is real dumb to trade “nice picks or cap relief” for Kemba but based on yesterday’s trades and value exchanged it doesn’t seem like any GM is that dumb
