Team meetings can be great.

the only danger is if it gets too "therapeutic", then it can inadvertently lead to an atmosphere of thinking one needs to hang one's head when things go bad, in order to be in solidarity with the group.

There's very little room in sports for head hanging, because there is forever the next play.  After the game, fine.

During the game, there should only be effort and positivity.  Occasional anger flare is okay too if someone sluffing...

It's a useful tool for team motivation, but I think most people realise that these meetings matter more to the storytelling afterwards than the immediate.

"Lads, let's choose to win basketball games instead of losing them".

"Yes".

And win the team did.

Compared to: "We said we wanted to win more games, but we lost them instead, and it turns out we're really just not good".

Clearly the Kings, Magic, insert perennial under-performer here have these meetings as well. No one cares because they don't measure up on the talent scale.
"...unceasingly we are bombarded with pseudo-realities manufactured by very sophisticated people using very sophisticated electronic mechanisms. I do not distrust their motives; I distrust their power. They have a lot of it."

Anyone notice how its always JB and Smart making those comments and never Tatum

Tatum is not as vocal as those two, period. He seems more of an introvert, but that may change as he gets older. He just turned 23 a few weeks ago...

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Hopefully Kemba told the J's to let him lead. We go as far as Kemba takes us! His smile needs to be anger for awhile.

Let Kemba lead the team in inefficiency or what though?
Whatever  He is 4 time All Star and he was brought to lead. The J's are not leaders yet. Got it! if not you know nothing about basketball.

It was a serious question. His resume isn't winning games. What would you like him to do? Because on the court he's not solving the teams problems unless he starts shooting much more efficiently. Is that what you mean by leadership?

Kemba's averaging 57.2% TS in the past 15 games though - his inefficiency mainly stems from his early season struggles.

He's still been less efficient than Tatum and Brown recently (last 7 or so games at least). So my response is asking in what way should they defer to Kemba? He's not going to be a pass first guy. His game is scoring. So if he's going to be the difference between winning and losing, he needs to get hot.

I will answer it... In no way. Two superior players should not be deferring to an inferior one. Jaylen and Jayson are both better shooters and scorers than Kemba is at this point. He needs to be a solid and reliable 3rd wheel, which he has not yet shown that he can  be on a consistent basis.
