Vucevic would be a massive get for us and the addition of Ross would bolster the bench unit. I played around on 2k today with trades that could see us grab the two Magic players whilst maintaining our core, particularly trying to keep Kemba who’s been brought up a lot. What do you guys think of this

Celtics Get: Vucevic, Ross
Magic Get: Theis, Edwards, Nesmith, 2 1sts and a 2nd

If Orlando blow it up they’ll be looking for picks and youth. With Celts core locked in until about 2025 our firsts untill then will be late but could become more valuable at the end of Tatum and Browns contracts. Nesmith is obviously unproven but I feel as if we don’t need both of Nesmith and Langford. Theis gives Orlando a temporary replacement and Edwards is a young guy with solid role player potential. I think this makes the Cs a championship favourite

Orlando would hang up with that offer
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Speak more about Vuc.  I know he’s a talented offensive player and shooting the 3 well this year and has good size.  But defensively what does he bring?  I think defending the middle is the bigger need at the 5.

I don’t see Vuchevich as someone we need. Suspect defense is the main issue but he also takes shots away from the Js.
Now if we find a way to bring Horford back that would be nice.
He can close games when embiid and Giannis are tired. Tristan and Timelord can not be relied on in the clutch and Theis is either tired or in foul trouble to close games against the good centers. That’s why I think we need Al.

I don't think we are getting that without giving up Kemba or Brown

Honestly I think our team defense is very strong when we have a our full rotation in. JB is borderline all defense, JT is more than capable as we saw against the clippers, we obviously know how good smart is on that end. Vucevic wouldn’t be recruited for his defense but his pure size, both height and weight, will be an upgrade defensively. Can’t remember exact stats of the top of my head but I think we were too 5 defensively last season and we really haven’t changed all that much.

He's solid. Has a good IQ, and gets to his spots well, and has a really long wingspan. He's also a top passing big man in the league, as well as a top rebounder

I would love for the Cs to get Vucevic. Is it doable to get him while keeping our big 3? Actually I’d be quite happy with Jonas Valanciunas also. He’s a very similar player to Vucevic but would cost cheaper and might be easier to extend?

They would want an established prospect, plus picks in return.

Langford and Edwards haven't really shown enough.

I feel like it could possibly be doable, although the cost might include Smart or Langford + Nesmith. Would be tricky cap-wise to manage a situation like that.

Valanciunas is another guy I've long pined for. He's been great for Memphis - averages 16/11/2 with a similar jump-shot to Baynes in his last year with us. Would be an awesome pickup, but I'd want to ship off one of our bigs otherwise it'd be a crazy logjam

Would just like to bring everyone's attention to Nikola Vucevic this Feb.

Averaging 29PPG, 14RPG, 4APG on 57% from 2, 42% from 3 and 78% from the FT line.

I would give up Smart or Kemba (plus whatever else) for him without blinking!
