Man, Julius Randle is having the time of his life right now.

22.8 points, 10.8 rebs, 6.8 assists this season, having comparisons to Anthony Davis stats this season. Are we sure Ainge did not miss out on Randle by drafting Smart?

Randle is doing virtually nothing different this year except playing more minutes and getting more touches/assists, mostly because he's on a terrible team without a decent point guard.

Nah, I've always thought he was a very strong player and hell yes, I would take him for our team right now over Marcus Smart.
We need help in the post, not Marcus jacking 3's with impunity. And I have always liked Smart - I would love to have both him and Randle, but have Marcus with more brains or a coach who will not allow him to hurt his team with bad shots.

This is shocking!

I’m stunned you’re posting anything other than Lakers love letters.

Randle is looking awesome on offence this season, but his defence still sucks

These things are not zero-sum.  Just because Randle is having a good year, doesn't mean Smart was a bad pick.  Now if we had taken Dante Exum, that decision would not have aged well but Smart was good pick.  Randle would have been a good pick.  Both can be true.
