Harden for Simmons could make the 76ers very good. A clear 1-2 punch with Harden and Embiid and an insane pick and roll combo.

Harden for whatever Brooklyn offers for some reason worries me less. Just because Harden, Irving, and Durant could have a hard time sharing the ball.

76ers wont do that

I think Nets will win the trade

To Rockets: Levert, Dinwiddie (bypass physical), Prince and 2 firsts

To Nets: Harden and 2 seconds

My prediction

My theory - Kyrie went off the reservation because he hears rumors within the Nets' organization that he is going to be traded to Houston for Harden and either (1) he is trying to torpedo that deal by him going AWOL; or (2) he has no intention of playing for the Rockets after he is traded and is starting his hiatus now.

My theory is you can’t rationalize the behavior or intentions of the insane.  No one has any idea about what Kyrie is thinking or might do.  The Nets need to sit back and hope Kyrie decides to play again.  Punishing him for his behavior is counterproductive to the team.  They just need to sit back and hope.  There is nothing they can actively do.  Trading him is an impossibility right now.

Yeah it just feels like Harden is doing to be traded by tonight

His teammates are trashing him, it's being reported by almost every reliable guy (Woj, etc.), and the Sixers and Nets are both deep in discussions too. Nets seem to be trying to get a 3rd team in too.

Harden will be traded to the Lakers for Caruso and Kuzma.  Prove me wrong.  :o

Man, I hope a dark horse team comes out and grabs him. It would really suck if either of these teams are able to trade for a one of the NBA's best players on a multi-year contract w/o actually giving up anything of real value.

I was saying it "tongue in cheek."  I know that can't truly happen, but the Lakers somehow landing Harden for a bag of donuts sounds like it could totally happen.

Houston will trade him to a East team..they don’t want him in the West..Nets and Sixers are favorites..If Durant wants him, then Nets will go all out
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark

I think the Nets have the best player available -  Levert

but 76ers can provide a more balanced return in Harris, Maxey, Thybulle.   Rockets do need a PG, since Wall is on and off these days

Levert is not better than Simmons, who - despite what Morey may have said in the past - will likely be available.

Simmons is not available

I don't know why this keeps being brought up

You really HOU would trade Harden to Philly without getting either Simmons or Embiid in the deal?

There is no HOU/PHI trade if neither one of those are included.

Lol. I don't know why you're so absolutely sure he's not available. It's a little naive to think he's not on the table at all. Morey saying he's not being traded just isn't credible. He did said the same about Chris Paul a week before he traded him.

not about what Morey says or what he lies about

Suddenly Simmons is available but not before?

Rockets say yes to a Simmons trade yesterday

Rockets a month ago to 76ers:  "Simmons for Harden.  Deal?"
76ers to Rockets= No

Rockets to 76ers yesterday:  "Simmons for Harden.  He can't shoot.  Deal?"
76ers to Rockets= ok yes this time

No NBA trade is quite that simple. Simmons is one part of a blockbuster trade. I'm sure there's been more negotiation regarding role players and draft compensation, draft pick protections, salary relief. Can Philly get Tucker too? And if so, what's the additional cost? Does Houston shop Tucker separately to see if they can get more value? Can Houston somehow get off of Gordon's salary which would help them financially over the next few seasons? Those are questions both GMs need to figure out.
