Does this trade work?

To Knicks: Rozier
To Hornets: Hayward
To Celtics: TPE (Knicks)

Tpe would come from charlotte in the amount of haywards starting salary(28 mill or so)

But yes.

Also, imo, team could include salary in and out that would bring the tpe down to about 23 million (barnes)

For example, edwards could go to nyk with frank coming back.

This Rozier to the Knicks idea would be great.  That would be $19M off the books for Charlotte and then I don't think they would need to stretch Batum.  If the Knicks got Rozier, it doesn't seem they would need to keep both of Frank Ntilikina and Dennis Smith.  Reggie Bullock would potentially be the most useful to us.

I hope they get something done along these lines.  I would be happy to take on any of these three Knicks in order to get the resulting TPE.  All between $4M and $6M contracts, one year.

This seems to work on all fronts.  I wonder who would be trying to get more out of this.  Charlotte holding out for a pick maybe?  I think the Knicks could offer a second round and still come out of this in good shape.

I think it just takes time. Perhaps there is debate as to who (Danny or MJ) takes something (Frank, Knox, Smith Jr, Ignas) from NYK. Most likely another PG as NYK has a ton, and Boston doesnt really need any.

So to paraphrase:
Charlotte not sure if they want something back from Knicks
Boston doesn't need another PG
NYK most likely wants to give a PG

Personally all in on Nabbing Knox or Frank (Frank can play shooting guard due to his size, Knox fill a need as a SF)

It seems like all sides would benefit. Cs obviously w/ the TPE, Knicks w/ Rozier, and CHA w/ cutting major salary to sign Hayward. Cs may still need to forfeit a 2nd rounder since they aren't even necessary in this deal. If they take on one or more of the Knicks mish-mash of guards (could be diverted to 4th team for a better fit on our roster), then that definitely would no longer be the case, though.

I don't think Charlotte can afford to take anything back.  Stretching Batum would cut $18M off the cap, trading Rozier is $19M.   The Knicks and Charlotte could trade Rozier for a pick I think, I know the Knicks have space but they have also signed some players recently.

Ntilikina is the most money at about $6M.  Probably that is what the Knicks would prefer to send out.  He would be a modest upgrade over say Tremont Waters so easy enough for us to take that on.

I like Yoda's idea posted a couple of days ago, when he first brought up  involving the Knicks as a third team to take Rosier, where we would take back Kevin Knox.  We have a greater need for a 3/4 like Knox than another PG who can't shoot.  Knox is only 21, there is still a lot of potential there.  Totally buried by Knicks.

Looks like they have 20 million in capspace. So in theory they should be able to take back 10 million, (Rozier -18.9 million plus 20 mill in capspace is 38.9 million, need 28.9 to sign Hayward) but I think they would rather spend that 10 million elsewhere.
