Hate to say this because he helped the Celts win a championship a decade ago.

But boy has he choked one too many 3-2 and 3-1 playoff leads.  Perhaps more than any other coaches recently I can remember

Not Doc's fault.

Paul George and Kawhi couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with Nukes.

Both just shot LAC out of the game....they had some good looks, too.

Would've been nice if LAC had a 3rd quality scorer....even Lou Williams wasn't a factor.

Just abysmal shooting by those three.

Fault or not ... he has one too many blown leads

So if not his fault, maybe bad luck

He blew 3-2 as magic coach
3-2 celts vs lakers
3-2 celts vs heat
3-2 rockets vs knicks (as a player)
3-1 Clippers vs Rockets

I think there is one or two more

He choked 2009 3-2 lead against Orlando.
He choked 2010 3-2 lead against Lakers.
He choked 2012 3-2 lead against Miami.
He choked 2015 3-1 lead against Rockets.

Among many other early playoff exits. He's a goner.

  • GOT IT!!!
Doc Rivers isn’t a good X’s and O’s coach. He’s a players coach and his players tuned him out. Why would that all of a sudden change next year? Gotta let him go.

The Doc Rivers hate on here is ALMOST as bad as the Gordon Hayward hate, lol.

For the LAST coach to win a banner in BOS since 1986 you think he'd get more love.

Not his fault, here.

All I know is that the Lakers have a really easy road to the title.

It's always hard to apportion blame after a loss. Is it on the coach who drew up the initial game plan and prepared the players to take the floor? Or the players who miss shots and defensive assignments, or fail to move the ball around? Obviously Doc has command responsibility, he's accountable for the final result...but end of day he's not on the floor playing. Some of his players not showing up in critical moments probably has something to do with it too.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

yes but Leonard was the 2019 playoff MVP

Clippers blew 2 18-19 point leads

The talent is there to close. But it didn't happen.

I think the blame lies on the coach in this case

Imo he should have played Zubac way more than he did.  Because Jokic was manhandling guys like Harrell

There was zero inside presence for the Clippers. And everything was on the outside (small ball)

You sign Noah, for what?? you could have gave him a few mins

Rivers just kept going with the same small ball that couldn't close
