He’s from there so I don’t see this being a story.

However, I’d love to make a trade with Indy most.

Hayward and two of our firsts this year for Turner and Warren.

Walker/Wanamaker
Smart/FA/Langford
Brown/Warren
Tatum/Williams
Turner/Theis/Williams
I do this trade in a second but doubt Indy would

That’d take me less than a second.

Would you do it if Indy insisted on including RWilliams in any trade for Turner?
Plus, Indy is going to want to include Mcdermott or Lamb rather than Warren.
No, because Turner is massively overrated. Is he much better than Theis? Theis is the better rebounder, more efficient scorer by a huge amount, is a better passer and better screen setter, whereas Turner is the better shot-blocker, shoots a much higher volume of 3s (on a similar %) and is younger.

Myles Turner is not the gamechanger people here think he is. And even without Sabonis he's almost the exact same player

Yeah Myles is pretty bad. If it’s not Sobinis then we shouldn’t do any trade with the pacers unless it’s a three way.
Agree wholeheartedly. Sabonis would be great under CBS with his passing - Turner is a useless passer on the other hand

Rumor is that Oladipo is unhappy in Indiana. Maybe Hayward agrees to a sign-and-trade for Oladipo. Maybe other players and/or picks involved. I could see something like that happening.

I've never understood the infatuation with Turner. In every way possible, I think Theis is a better player but Theis is just 6'8" so people get all crazy he isn't big enough. I just don't get the height fetish people have sometimes. The Celtics have the best defense in the playoffs and the only reason they lost the last two games is because of a miracle shot and shooting 5-22 from three on wide open looks.

Our center rotation, IMO, is quite good and I don't see 32 MPG of Turner being better than 32 MPG of whoever Stevens decides to use of the Theis/Willuams/Kanter rotation.

Hayward May opt out to return to Indy where he started at Butler..but doubt it be this year with 34 million on the table
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I'd be fine with a movie centered around Hayward and Myles Turner. I don't know how it'd be worked financially or what would happen but a starting lineup next year of Walker, Smart, Brown, Tatum, Turner would maybe be the best in the league.

If he's moving the whole family I'd say this is pretty significant. They moved to the Boston area when he signed here.

It doesn't have to be a trade. He's entering an option year.

He's probably planning to work remotely.

lol TP!

Amen to that, Turner is not the answer. His inability to rebound would drive people off the wall here

I guess Hayward's option date being moved to Oct 17 didn't change his plans to move back to Indiana.

If the season hadn't been interrupted this would have all been settled in June. He would already have  been introduced as the newest member of the Pacers.

The Pacers have zero cap space. If Hayward opts out, they can only offer him the MLE.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

Yeah, a month ago or so, I was in favor of a Turner trade; but, with TL's emergence and Theis still under contract, I am not sure that would be the best move. I would still be in favor of moving on from Hayward should he pick up his option. He is more of a luxury at this point and his cap hit is going to be killer as the Cs move forward. He is a clear #4 option and I am not sure we can afford a player making in the mid-$20 millions with three other guys on max contracts.

A player that can play both PF and C (at least in small ball line-ups) would be great. I think it's important that this player can keep the ball moving and at least be a threat from the outside. Turner seems to check a number of boxes, but Sabonis (I can't imagine he's available) would probably make a lot more sense if we are talking strictly about a trade with Indy.

Boston can do a sign-and-trade. We saw a lot of these deals last summer.

It wouldn't be up to Hayward anymore. The C's would have to give the go-ahead for any deal with the Pacers to be finalized. This wasn't the case last year with KD, Kemba and Butler. The Nets, the C's and the Heat could have used their cap space, but they opted for a sign and trade instead. For instance, the Nets were offered a protected first for DLo (who was about to walk anyway).

Whom would you target from Indy? Chances are we can't afford to take back 2 big contracts, cause Tatum's max kicks in next offseason. The C's wouldn't be allowed to throw in extra players either (since we are talking about a sign and trade).
