So honestly I'm not sure Smart is all that improved. Its not like his defense is better (he was already 1st team last year), his 3 point shooting is worse, maybe some slight improvement to passing.

Theis is improved, I think a lot of that is further recovery from injury tho. And he still isn't close to the level either of the Jays are at. If you are gonna list him you should list Hayward, who was FAR better this year than last.

Either Jaylen or Jayson I wouldn't argue too much with.

Yeah, fair enough re Smart. Perhaps I was rolling with recency bias (after game 2) when I included him in the poll.

Re Gordy, yeah, it's tough to gauge his improvement outside of just being healthy. But massive improvement if that criteria is included: +6 points, +2.2 rebounds, +.7 assists..

I went Jaylen. Obviously Tatum has made huge strides and I can't argue against his improvement but I think the work Jaylen has done on the little stuff and turning himself into a really dependable player every night has been just as, if not more, impressive.

I agree that Hayward has improved significantly from last year. My only caveat is that he's improved back to what I expected his performance level to be. I have to say that Theis has been a surprise all year. He's not a guy that fills the stat sheet but he does what's needed to help his fellow starters be the best versions of themselves. A big part of Tatum's success at the rim this year has to do with Theis creating space for him and sealing the opponent's 5 away from him. The only thing I would like to see from him is a greater willingness to shoot from the perimeter when the wings create space for him, and a greater ability to sink those shots.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

It sure ain't him. Even though people are gushing over his playoff run, he's had one 6 point game, one 13 point game and so far today has 13 points in 27 minutes. His scoring is way too inconsistent

I think it's either Durant or Giannis
