We should've beaten them in 2012. The refs rigged Game 2 where Rondo had a huge night. Game 6 we should've been able to close them out, but instead, LeBron went supersaiyan mode.

The Celtics could've won it all beating the Thunder in the Finals.

Still can’t believe rondo played with 1 arm. Not many players would do that

I flew back to Boston just to catch Game 6.  Remember turning to my dad at one point (maybe 2nd quarter) when Lebron was just going off and telling him "I don't think its our night, Dad".

Walked out of there thinking that was probably the end of that era.  Didn't have particularly good feelings for Game 7.

I still think the C's would've had some pretty big issues with OKC in the Finals but that '12 Celts team was a fun one.

I'm sure that Pat Riley would've had to do SOMETHING....

DAL had just denied MIA the year before, right?

If BOS would've stopped them in 11-12 I'm sure MIA would've retooled somehow.

HUGE disappointment that Boston lost that series.

I've said this a bazillion times, but I think that if KG doesn't get in injured in '09, the Celtics win 4 or 5 in that period.

Yeah I think a lot of us have forgotten just how tough and how good Rondo was in his prime.

Maybe they would have, but Bosh didn't even play until game 5 in that series.  Once they got Bosh back to even like 80% (games 6 and 7) the C's had no real chance.  Miami with Bosh was just such a vastly superior team to Boston at that point.

And frankly, Boston was only in that series because Rose blew out his knee.  I don't think Boston gets by Chicago that year, but Rose blowing out his knee allowed 8th seeded Philly to win the 1st round.  Boston had to go to 7 just to dispatch the Sixers after going 6 with the Hawks in the first round.  That team was fun, but it had no shot against a healthy Miami.  If the Heat big 3 were healthy from the start that was probably a 5 game series at best, just like the Finals were with the Thunder.  Lebron was just on another level that year.  Wade and Bosh were still very much in their prime.  There are real arguments that if healthy Miami would have had the 3 best players in that series.  Bosh being injured and out is the only reason that series was close.

Yeah, I remember the playoff game vs the Heat where Rondo went head to head with Lebron, Rondo dropped 44 points and lead the Celtics to victory.

Rondo played with the injured elbow in 2011. Not 2012.

Not sure if you are making a clever comment about the garbage overtime officiating, but the Celtics lost that game.

Yeah honestly the Bulls had Boston's number that year. Kinda got lucky (and unfortunate) that Rose was out. Even the 5th-seeded Hawks had home-court advantage over the Celtics, since division winners at the time had the top 4 seed by default.

But yeah that year was fun. Just thought we had it after stealing Game 5 in Miami. Game 7 was the dagger to ending the Big 3.
