I hope they do keep Melo for cheap for another year. He is shooting 40% from three and helping a little on the boards. Definitely could do worse for a veterans minimum. Though a lineup with mcollum, lillard, melo and Love could be pretty brutal defensively, it seems fun offensively.

I think they felt that Love was just a significantly better version of what Anthony provides and having both of them wouldn't make sense.  Now I guess if Melo would come back for the veteran minimum, then you keep him, but if he plays next year I suspect it will be for a MLE type contract or more on a quality team (which Portland would be if they would pay him) or the vet. minimum on an uber-contender in a major market (so basically the Clippers, Lakers, or Nets (remember this is next year so KD will be there)).  Carmelo doesn't strike me as a guy that is going to go full on Vince Carter and play for cheap on a bunch of random teams.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Love was visibly disgusted to end the half against OKC. The offers are probably paltry from the Cavs perspective and he's trying to make it untenable to retain him.

Curious to see where he ends up. More curious what his role is on a good team.

Can they get away with DNP-CDs until a trade? lol. Pelicans kept listing AD as probable and not playing him at the end of last season.
