The Nets 100% plan to pair him with another player. Remains to be seen if they can land that other player I am skeptical honestly because other than Kyrie they haven't been linked to the other top guys.

I think Kyrie was trying to sell KD on the Nets situation, who knows how far that got. Especially with KD's injury it could easily still be the team up they were planning or KD/Kyrie might change their minds.

Because he will still be offered a max contract by multiple teams according to league sources.

I think everybody in the world - including KD - was shocked by the severity of the injury. At worst, he might have expected to re-aggravate the original injury. Luckily for him, he's KD, and not say Boogie Cousins. He will still get a full max deal while rehabbing for a season, while Cousins was forced to take a one-year taxpayer MLE.

There's a good chance someone maxes him next year anyway. It also depends how he feels about the Warriors medical staff. Does he trust that group after his injury?

Agreed. They want Irving, durant or butler AND Russell.

Thats a potentially phenominal team as well with the ability to trade russell down the road when a bigman becomes available.
