I really wanted us to draft Robinson before the draft.  I didn't consider Williams because I didn't think he'd be available. I'm glad we snatched Time Lord, but I do wonder whether we would have been better off still taking Robinson.  Haven't really watched him play much this season, except against us, when he has done well in limited minutes. They are both excellent shot blockers, but still very raw.

Which of them do you think will have a better NBA career, and why?

Hard to say. They are very similar players

I’m not sure who will be better in the long run, but if we had drafted Robinson instead, I imagine some version of this thread would have been created anyways.  Williams would be putting up numbers on an inferior team and Robinson would be riding the bench.

Comparing from what little I've seen of Robinson to what I've seen of Williams?

I have to go with RW..

He reminds me of Inspector Gadget with those springy legs of his..

"Go Go Gadget LEG SPRINGS!!!"

Just bouncy...on the hardwood one sec then in the air the next. Just a dangerous lob catcher and shot blocker.

I bet he's a better passer than Mitch, too.

RW has a better offensive game but will he be able to overcome his chronic leg condition? I haven't heard any negative reports regarding Robinson's physical condition.

My money is on Mitch Robinson since he's already earning regular minutes, albeit for an awful team.

Good chance neither of them is ever more than a 10-15 minute player on a decent team.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

I think Robinson has benefited from having a team that is actively trying to lose.

Long-term I like Williams, naturally, but he might get stuck behind AD!

Or traded for him.
