The Celtics currently sit at 24-10 (71%) at home and 14-16 (46%) on the road.

That's a pretty disastrous swing and makes the prospect of a playoff run with no home court advantage that much scarier.

Any ideas what causes the inconsistency? Youth? Reliance on long range shooting?

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The split I posted doesn't demonstrate a large difference on offense.  My guess is that the defense is much worse on the road than at home.  I'm not sure if there's a stat on B-ref to show the home/road splits for DRTG.

I looked at it on NBA.com, they don't have the splits in the same query so I ran 3 separate ones for Overall, Home and Away (click on images to expand):

OVERALL

HOME

AWAY

What I can see is the net rating drops from 8.1 to 1.4, it's probably skewed by a few big wins and a lot of close losses.

https://www.teamrankings.com/nba/stat/opponent-effective-field-goal-pct

Teamrankings.com

Celts' opponents' Effective shooting, up until today ranks 4th best as home tream at 50.1%, while on the road opponents' effective shooting % has been 52.2% the 9th best.

Prior to AS game Cs home effective shooting % defense at home 50.0% (4th best) & away 51.8% (8th best), so there has been some drop off on defense when we are not the home team.

I'm a little confused by the graphic. It seems like it's listed two sets of number for home games and two sets of number for road games. Are the latter numbers opponents' numbers?

There's a header that is supposed to be above that that Pho might have accidentally cropped out...the first set of numbers is the team's numbers and the 2nd set is opponents. So for Road the team averages 109.2ppg and concedes 107.8.
