Based on how Hayward has fit in with this team so far, I'm a little surprised people think he's going to become a top 3 option.

At this point I'd be happy if he turned into a Joe Ingles clone.
The only way Boston is winning a title this year is if Hayward is back to his Utah days.
Ya but the question isnt "Who do our three guys have to be?" Its "Who are our three guys (going to be)?" And right now its hard to envision that going to be Hayward. Not impossible, but I think its more likely next year.

They aren't winning a title this year.

I assumed that was the premise of this thread.  I mean why else would it be about champions if the thought isn't Boston winning a title.

I saw posters in the Patriots thread that were just as convinced the Pats could never win a SuperBowl last year as you are the Celts won't win a title this year.

In this magical year where the Sox and Pats have already won chips, with this talented Celtics team and the best defensive team in the NHL with 3rd best record who is red hot, in the Bruins, I wouldn't rule out two more titles this summer. I certainly wouldn't be positive they were going to lose.

I think it's different to the Pats, as this team has never shown any ability to win a championship, whereas the Pats had the GOAT QB and the arguable GOAT coach.

Yep I was one of those posters.

I was wrong to doubt it was possible for Bill and Tom.

This team has not proven anything.  They don't get that benefit of the doubt.

Besides, nobody but the Warriors is winning this year.

I never thought the Celts were going to win this year. For me this year was about a proof of concept.  Can this group be a contender for the next few years.

The answer seems to be that the mix of personalities and play styles just doesn't work.

I think the front office shares that assessment because they've made it as clear as they can without publicly stating it that they're very eager to offer half the team for Anthony Davis.

Probably the closest would be the 2014 Spurs which is the team that I most compare with ours in terms of having an ensemble cast instead of a Big 2/3. They had a 15 - 12 - 10 - 10 and the next one after that was 7.

I think our 3 should be Kyrie and Jayson with Gordon/Al alternating depending on the team and matchup. But it will probably be Kyrie/Jayson/Mook. I'm guessing Gordon will have the least shots as he doesn't jack up low percentage shots.
Someone on reddit said the same thing.  Was that you?

Anyways... there's no way Kyrie is getting just 15 shots... so you follow that Spurs framework, you're gonna have to redistribute at least 5 shots to Kyrie which eliminates one of those guys and you end up with 20, 12, 10...

This is a tough thing.  The "too many mouths" is a key reason this team has struggled this season.

Not me I'm afraid...more of a lurker on Reddit. The other thing too is if we want more shots from Gordon than the 8.9 he is currently taking those are going to have to come from someone else as well. Tatum averages 13, Mook and Jaylen 11, Al 10, Terry 8.5, Smart 7. There's just not enough shots in this team to go around.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
