Enjoyed reading this piece, and also was blown away by the defense Lebron was playing yesterday on Young. That is the worst effort I have ever seen him have. I wonder how much of that is age related and loss of quickness on a guy on a guy like Young.

I also must say watching this it seems hard to imagine Lebron is really going to play 5-6 more years like some have suggested.

i read that too but for some reason i think LeBron doesn't care about this season knowing the Lakers won't go anywhere. So I think he is just cruising, the same criticism that people had when he's already mentally checked out.

Lebron has been a bad defender for a loooooooooong time. How lackadaisical he's been on defense is the reason he can still put up the statlines he does.

I think he hangs around long enough to both have a chance of playing with his son and setting the all time scoring record.  He won't be anywhere near the player he is, but he doesn't have to be for both of those things to happen.  He just has to remain relatively healthy and have a typical downward trend and not fall off a cliff from one season to the next.

I red somewhere (not sure about the source) that Lakers players possibly trying to get Walton fired with poor play...
probably not true- take it for what its worth.

But Lebron defense is beyond bad in those videos.

The defensive lapses certainly appear to be a combination of physical limitation and lack of effort.

Is his son realistically an NBA prospect? Haven't followed his path other than the occasional mention in national articles.

Yes. He really is. Class of 2023. 13-14 years old. Already dunking. Good shot. Good passer. Good ball-handler.

Bryce could also end up following right after in 1-2 years. His footwork/handles are also advanced for his age, but what else do you expect when your father is one of the best of all time lol.

Yeah he is 5'10" 150 pounds already.  He allegedly already has scholarship offers from Duke and Kentucky.  Now I'm sure a lot of that is who his father is, but some of it is because he has already shown that type of talent because as you say, he has shown good ball and shooting skills, along with very good athleticism, strength, and power.
