I'm gonna preface this by saying that I believe Kyrie will be around for the long term.

However it is legit to be concerned with the recent rumours alongside him sitting in recent games.

It's been discussed before but were we to seek to trade Kyrie due to words from him stating an intention to move on, what would you look for?

I imagine only large markets would be in the game, namely the New York and LA teams. Given that in retrospect we got him for literally nothing, would an offer like Rondo, Kuzma and some picks be enough? Or perhaps something built around Nkilitina?

I guess in this situation there is less opportunity to get 'value'. I think it's more about balancing the now vs the future, and presumably taking the opportunity to head back under the luxury tax.

Again this is a hypothetical, but it's that time of the year for a mind to wonder!

While it is certainly reasonable to be concerned about Kyrie staying in and of itself, it is NOT “legit to be concerned with the recent rumours alongside him sitting in recent games.”

Kyrie not playing last game and tonight has NOTHING to do with anything other than him having some hip soreness and Brad being super precautious and overlapping this issue with planned rest games anyways. This has been the plan all season long.

Further, the “rumors” have all come from questionable and/or non-reputable sources outside of Boston, and they have all been dismissed or outright rebuked by much more reputable sources close to the Celtics.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.
