Imagine the unlikely, but possible, outcome of the Pelicans landing the #1 pick and BOS via SAC landing at #2.

Memphis' pick in this scenario is #9.

Boston can offer the 2nd and 9th pick (and LAC pick high teens) in the upcoming draft.

Additionally, NO will have Zion W. at number 1.

What is your trade package to NO.

Or does AD change his mind and stay in NO with Zion??

Tatum, Smart, Yabu, #2 pick, BOS #1

Realistically I’d give more, but not many teams can beat that.

I think that Tatum and the #2 is too much. Keep the #2 and trade the #9 and LAC pick, heck even give them the BOS pick (#32).

Look at it this way: who is more likely to put us in the Finals, Davis or Tatum + #2? I don’t think it’s close.

Agree.

I also think Horford should be included in a package for AD, not Marcus Smart.

Yes, we can go over the cap to sign Morris, and Rozier if we wanted to. We’d also have the Taxpayer MLE, minimum salaries, etc.

Horford / Baynes
Davis / Morris
Hayward
Brown
Kyrie

We’d need to sign / draft some wings, but that’s a championship rotation.

Draft Morant and don't resign Kyrie.

(kidding... sort of).

Not with current hayward and a further declined and reduzed role horford.

Irving
Smart
Brown or tatum
Morris
Davis

That lineup is more complete.

But if team got number 2 pick and number 9 I would think long and hard about just going with youth.

Potentially having barrett and tatum as your 1 - 2 punch with the potential to trade into high potential pfs and pgs with other players is [dang] enticing.

Honestly a young core of ja/brown/tatum and williams would be looking pretty interesting

Well I think the #2 pick is more valuable than any other asset on the table for Davis besides Simmons (if he is on the table/if AD would consider resigning there).

For example, would you rather have Kuzma or #2, Alonzo or #2, Ingram or #2?

Adding the future Grizzlies pick is a good start.  It’s basically #2 overall pick and another high lottery pick.

I think those two are more valuable than the Lakers trio.

Because of this Jayson would not have to be included.  Hell, since there may not be any other teams on Davis’ list, the Celtics could even try to hold onto Brown as well.

Again, this is assuming only a few teams will think about acquiring Davis if he says he’ll only resign in LA.  And if the King’s pick is #2 which I think is like only like 1% chance at this point.

I think we need to unload Hayward in order to afford Kyrie, Davis, and Horford while also keeping Morris (who I’d rather have at 14.5 million per year than Hayward at 30 million).  I’d try to unload Hayward ASAP.  Something like Vucevic and Augustine and Simmons for Rozier and Hayward.  A franchise like Orlando just may be desperate enough to take a swing on Hayward eventually getting back into form.

Then in the Summer trade for AD.  In this scenario the Kings pick is #2.  Tell me what deal you’d rather have if you were New Orleans.

Jaylen Brown
#2 overall pick (RJ Barrett)
Grizzlies first round pick (2020 or 2021)
Celtics 1st round pick 2021
Celtics 1st Pick 2023
DJ Augustine
Jonathan Simmons
Robert Williams iii

Or

Brandon Ingram
London Ball
Kyle Kuzma
Salary filler
2 lakers picks

The goal is to have a super trio of Irving Davis and Tatum with other high end players like Horford Morris and Smart
