People can either remember that he's the 6th pick or just put it out of your mind. What I watched last night was pure dominance and pure intimidation on the court from Marcus Smart. The way he was switching and putting guys in order, the way he was picking on the break to get Kyrie an open shot.
The way he attacked the rim off missed shots, the way he intimidated Carl A Towns when he was switched on him, and stopped Taj Gibson on the switch. When they go up against teams like that, pay close attention to Smart, he is literally dominating out there and this is his worth not only to this team, but any team out there. He was get into your best player and either shut him down or slow him down.
His team WILL play defense when he's on the court. So either you can value that, or devalue that and miss it when it's gone.
