Kevin Johnson Nash and Kidd were on the same team in 1996 on the Suns. How many championships did the double PG teams win? That's right, zero. The closest matches I can think of are:70s Lakers = Jerry West and Gail Goodrich = both guys more combo guards than PGs only70s Knicks = Walt Frazier and Earl Monroe = Monroe more of a combo guard80s Pistons = Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars = Joe D more of a combo guard

Earl Monroe and Walt Frazier?
Quote This is a terrible argument IMO. Are you telline that Irving, Trae Young, Horford, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Rozier couldn't win a title? Of course they could. Nope it illustrated what a terrible premise your two points are in terms of winning titles. A lot title teams had great point forwards too, like the Celtics in the 80s and the 90s Bulls. There is little reason to go double PG,QuoteHow about Curry and Irving as your Starting backcourt instead of Thompson. Think they could win it all? Rest my case. It's about the other players as much as anything. We will never know because this team does not exist. NBA execs don't out together these teams often because they don't win titles. Hypothetically could they win, sure, but it won't happy because neither of them could defend the other teams guards in tough situations. So you better dust off your case...

They league has skewed small with such an emphasis on shooting over the past few years that it really feels like having two elite guards that can handle the ball, shoot, and score at will is a solid foundation to build a team around. We're seeing the experiment now in Houston with CP3 and Harden.

Given the choice of the next Curry or Irving or the next Dwight Howard, I'm going with The next Curry in Trae Young.
