I was wrong. That takes a man to meet with him, so I give him major props for that.

I should have been more understanding of how he hated it so much because he loved it so much here.

I will own up to that.

IT is an emotional guy, for better or for worse. You see it on the court. After the trade, we saw it off the court, too. I'm glad the ill will isn't lingering. IT will always be one of my favorite players.

Class all around. Props to Ainge and the organization for putting effort into player relations. They know it matters.  Credit to Isaiah as well.

"I want to be MVP one day".

I suppose it's great to have lofty goals like being a league MVP or attaining a Brink's Truck's load of cash, but one would think that the very real opportunity to win an NBA Championship would be the primary thing on IT's mind as he works his way back.  The sliver of a window into IT's psyche is inconclusive but worth some speculation.  He's been a guy who has had to prove people wrong every step of the way.  It's admirable for sure.  But IT has made it.  He's a phenomenon, a legit all-star, a wealthy man, and he's about to play 2nd banana to one of the GOATs in a quest for a championship.  His gut motivator should be winning a championship; not money, not MVP awards.   I've probably pegged him wrong here, but that MVP quote turned me off a little.

For all the lying Ainge does to the media, I think he's pretty straight-forward with players. He's cold blooded but I don't think he's a snake. Maybe he's more like a turtle. A snapping turtle that takes things pretty slow until he suddenly snaps into action and takes everyone by surprise.

I completely understand why IT would feel hurt. he had a season for the ages and Ainge shipped him out. for pure emotional reasons it makes perfect sense.

But ainges job is to win banner 18 and I see his looking at IT4's age/contract/injury situation vs. Irvings paired with the youth of Tatum/Brown. not to mention getting shellacked in the ECF to see our best chance at bringing home banner 18 is growing with Irving/Brown/Hayward/Tatum and hopefully Horford can remain effective.

I hope this helps with the sentiment that Anthony davis had regarding teams trading players without loyalty. Sure its a business but the team had to do what it had to do, and we still like humans care for IT after Trading him

I think we all should remember that this is a business. Trading IT was a business move for the organization. I don't think Danny thought for a minute that he was doing anything wrong or that he owed anyone an explanation.  I understand IT being upset or disappointed.  He is the one who spoke out in the media about the brink s truck. Danny never made a comment about that but you know he heard it.

It seems to me that the players and the union made this a business situation in order to get more money and justify labor dispute moves against owners. Nothing wrong with that but there are consequences. I think some teams try to keep and promote a family atmosphere more than others. That has to be hard on player
And management relations.  You still end up with hurt feelings and dissapointment.

Look at Cleveland when LeBron left for Miami.  That was a business and career move but was painted to some extent as disloyal. Point is, no one was disloyal to IT, just business. Get over it and make Danny regret it or move on. If you are worth the truck load then it will come from somewhere when you prove  you are 100%.
