Baynes, Morris, Theis, Semi, Smart, Rozier

one word...SOLID.... we wouldn't be on this winning streak without the bench

I feel confident in this unit , especially on the defensive end.   Plus on offense, someone different it seems comes through.  For example Semi hitting that clutch game winning 3 vs OKC

OR Rozier scoring 8 in a row to seal the deal vs the Spurs.

Going back to Semi...its not like he is averaging 8 or even 10 ppg...but he has been part of a young trio (+Brown, Tatum) that has been good enough to make up for the loss of Hayward.

Sure, they 've all been playing great recently.

I don't think Morris will be part of the bench unit for much longer.

Kyrie-Brown-Tatum-Morris-Horford

Imo, that's the starting lineup moving forward with Smart - Rozier - Semi - Theis - Baynes coming off the bench.

Ya I'd say they're solid. Defense and free throw shooting is what the bench does best. Offensively they still have problems:

20th in points
28th in FG %
24% in 3 Point %

They typically outperform opposing benches but the C's would be on another level with a bench that could shoot just average from the field.

I'll be surprised if Baynes is pulled from the starting lineup.  He very much looks like he can fill the role guys like Bogut and Pachulia have for GSW the last few years.

It will also keep Horford happier and fresh, saving him from having to bang inside right from the get go.  I called this (Baynes starting) when we signed him, he's just so much better at filling the role Brad envisioned for Amir last year.

Starters that can provide offense and bench that can provide stable D, is usually a recipe for success

Morris will start soon enough as regular starting PF.
Baynes may start ccasionally vs giants like Howard or Gobert but Morris is the better player on both ends by far.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I believe Baynes and Morris will share starting duties and game time, depending on the opposition. While Stevens claims he will change things up depending on the opposition, I think this will be the only change with starters unless someone has a form drop or injury. I expect Morris will start the next game against the Cavs. Baynes will get starts against lesser teams mostly.

I'd say Morris is the better player and by far better on offense but I have been very impressed by Baynes on defense especially rotating to protect the rim. He is very good at the rule of verticality and contest shots without fouling which is I believe what we need out of our other starting spot. Morris also helps bring a little offense and experience  to the second unit I would keep baynes starting finish with Morris.

Who starts between Baynes and Morris?  Depends on the match up!  I still think Tatum starts then goes to the bench early to be the scorer with the 2nd unit.

Yeah, I don’t think BS is going to be splitting starting duties between Morris and Baynes based on matchups.  That’s just silly.  His take some time to figure it out and then he’ll make a decision.  Frankly, it will have more to do with where he wants Al to play than anything else.
