Brown is my favorite Celtic but I'm not sure what these "Give Brown a pass, he was hit in the head" comments are about. It's not like he's shown the ability to be a decent FT shooter at any point during his career so far.
High School, NIKE/Adidas Summits, College, Summer League, Preseason, NBA, etc. he's been a below 70% free throw shooter for his entire basketball career.
It's not a problem I think he'll continue to have, he just needs to get his reps up.
TP.
We gotta be hard on Brown about this. You can bet your ass he'll be really peeved with himself for shooting less than 75%.
He's overthinking it and he'll work out a method that helps him eventually.
All that aside, he's a fkn beast and was a great pick.
Really hoping he's as tough mentally as he portrays himself, the free throws are somewhat worrying but whenever I worry about anything with him and Tatum I slap myself and remember that Jaylen Brown turned 21 years old last week.
I don't want him to just become an All Star. He's got the athletic ability, size and IQ to be a hall of fame player. He's also been blessed with the coach and organization to get him there.
At age 21 if he continues on the path of progression, improvement and mental toughness that he's put himself so far, then we could have a hall of fame wing on our hands.
I mean he'll be staring at All defensive team honors this year.
If Roberson can get there with last years effort, Brown can get there this season and even more possibly next season.
I'm really not kidding either. The kid is guarding the best players in the NBA like a rash for 35-40 mins a night.
That takes a certain kind of heart, respect and discipline for your coach and a certain kind of love for competing to play D like that, and at age 21 nonetheless.
