ESPN has a short clip of IT shooting before the Cavs game.  Just catch and shoot but seems like a good sign for a January return.

He has been shooting for a while now, there have been a few videos, even before our game against them. It doesn't take much to shoot. I'm  guessing, he probably has been shooting the entire time because that's about all he can do.

I miss his character but dont miss him being a complete liability and causing our entire defense to collapse around him

I do value character.  And Kyrie's defense has been laughable at times so far.  I assumed he wasn't 6'3", but he looks like a midget on my laptop.  It is noticeable that the entire defense isn't operating as a 4-man unit to cover up for IT, though.

If IT is relegated to shooting (large concern on the cavs) then he is an utter liability. His presence as a borderline mvp caliber player came from his ability to move with and without the ball, penetrate and mildly create for others at an elite level.

Him taking jump shots does nothing to convince me that he has progressed at all (obviously he has, but for hip injuries, shooting is essentially irrelevant.)

IT's main strength is his speed and ability to get into the basket while drawing fouls. The hip will definitely affect that. His production will depend on how healthy his hips are.

Isn't that true for everyone, across all professions?

Kyrie seems to have real problems navigating around picks but otherwise, I've been pleased with him improvement on defense. He's been quite active and a huge upgrade over IT on that end.

I've read several comments about Irving and picks, e.g. Allegedly going the wrong way. Anybody go back to the tape to try to figure out what he was looking for on the play?

Definitely different from IT, who used his diminutive size and quicks to slip between defenders on the pick/pop. IT's lack of length (and height I suppose) made the most elementary passing out of a double require some extraordinarily athletic leap and pass in the air stuff.

Glad he's shooting; it's really his best NBA skill of very few (dribbling and changing speed the only other 2 that are coming to me right now).

I miss Isaiah

Yeah I know, I'm excited about the future and we are definitely more talented, but it's still sad to see The Little Guy gone.

I'm glad we got to see his MVP-worthy season though and he did make last season fun.

Him shooting is really not a news item. He has been able to shoot for quite a while I believe. When is doing some contact drills and running and cutting it will have some significance.
