Something tells me the NBA is trying to be more like the NFL and consume the entire offseason. They could've announced this trade but all the news, drama and suspense is good for the league. It's almost like there hasn't been an offseason. We went from the Finals, to the big draft trade, to the summer league hype , to the Irving news and now the on-hold trade.

...this should take us right up to NFL opening day. Wait until next year with all the FAs and Bron drama.

Of course.  It's the end of August & the NBA is in the news cycle.

This. The NBA loves it.

Also, just think of all the jerseys that have to be bought as two all stars change teams.

Well everyone hates the Celtics AND Lebron, so I imagine they all want this to fall apart and look bad for both sides.
The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
