If IT is resigned they owe us a protected first that eventually becomes 2 seconds.

If he averages x amount of points over x amount of games or in the playoffs they owe us a first or 2nd.

If he doesn't play enough we owe them a 2nd.

Stuff like that.  Easy

Trades like that aren't allowed in the NBA. They are in the NHL, NFL, and I believe MLB, but not in the NBA.

I find it amazing that a league that allows all sorts of protections and swaps doesn't allow this.
