Some poster on here posted some "message" his brother (I think) read from another phone he found about how IT was really mad they traded him away.

Most people here assumed it was fake though and just for clicks.

Ainge should NOT give the Cavaliers anything.

Lebron is leaving after this season (and this makes it seem more likely he is and CLE knows it), and they could cost themselves a chance at Bagley or Porter here. Fine by me.

Yep.  If another team was giving close to the C's offer, Irving would have gone there instead of to Boston.  Unless the Celtics are convinced that IT will miss most/all of the season, and were trying to pull one on the Cavs, they should say "take it or leave it."

Brogdon, Middleton, and a first. Would've been a really interesting package for Cleveland in the present, but it still doesn't come close to the future impact of our deal.

Unless Irving was also willing to waive his trade kicker to go to Milwaukee, there'd have to be something else included, as Milwaukee would be $2.4 million short in salary, and they can't get there just by including minimum-salary filler.

Hated the trade from the second I heard it, Celt's should void the trade get back on track with the REALITY that we're not beating GS for a chip ANY time soon,even WITH KI.. SO stick to the timeline Danny, what the h*ll were you thinking?? Is this the same Danny who wanted to trade the farm for Winslow?THAT'S the other Danny, the Impulsive, got to have it NOW Evil Twin Danny. I like the thoughtful, level headed, strategic Trade Assassin Danny. I don't want to see that other Danny ever again.

It's tough to undo a trade that's been publically announced. The players involved are negatively affected. This should have been done privately. Once the media get ahold of it, it gets out of control.

Very true, this is making a bunch of news and is probably good off season tv sports drama.

Can't help but wonder if it will be a negative for the league and players. There is no way this can be finished without hurt feelings. The players and ownership deemed sports a business years ago but do businesses air laundry?

 I guess it could ruin Thomas career and if he isn't careful his reputation. There is a fine line between malcontent and injured party in the public media sometimes. I hope there is not irreparable damage done but it's probably too late to go back.

You think kyrie will be happy traded to another team now? all it require is for Him to announce that(and believe me he will) and no team is going to trade any assets for him, because he don't want to stay there anyway
let's say he was traded to the Suns/Bucks, And he wants out? we can just trade the pick for him again

TP - that's an interesting point. If Cleveland is just an absolute no-go on the trade as-is, perhaps it could just be made into a three way. Any team acquiring Kyrie would also likely highly value the BKN pick and Crowder - especially if they knew for sure that Kyrie was going to walk in two years.

We are in a very fortunate situation with the Cavs, though. If the Cavs really do desire a high draft pick, then any team they trade Kyrie to will improve because Kyrie is a star player. BKN's record will not improve because we get Kyrie.

Hadn't considered the 3rd team aspect. If some one needs cap space next year maybe they take IT, some expiring Cavalier pieces and send Cleveland a young player they like. It wouldn't be hard to imagine that scenario.

Just have to find that 3rd team unfortunately.

Were you not onboard with the Hayward signing as well? I'd argue KI fits more in our "timeline" more than Hayward. I mean, Kyrie isn't even in his prime yet.

PLOT TWIST: That 3rd team is the Warriors LOL with Klay or Draymond involved.

It's a joke, but I mean unless either guy is willing to play for like 2M/Year, extending those guys to big contracts means Warriors could be paying hundreds of millions of luxury tax (in 3-4 years it becomes a billion $$. YIKES).

They'll still dominate for 2 years but the contract situations of Klay and Draymond combined with likely having to pay their better bench players could (hopefully) become their downfall in like 3 years.

We honestly haven't heard much from Irving and Isaiah since the trade but it seems like it's been a sensitive topic all week so that's understandable (emotionally but also with this whole new drama).

Not any middle ground in the poll choices.

Didn't love it, didn't hate it; but I've only recently come to understand the problem with Isaiah's hip joint, and what a big deal it is.

Crowder and Bk18 is an awful lot to give up, but there are few who can do what Irving and Thomas can do. It isn't only a question of how much basketball talent you give up versus how much you get.
