He brings the ball down low too often, allowing guards to swipe it away. He has to learn to keep the ball high l
it took Perk years to break that habit.

Honestly, despite admitting the problem several times, Perk never broke that habit!

That, and he was slower than cold molasses running uphill in the middle of January.

Yawn... he was playing against a starting front-court of Alex Poythress, Furkan Korkmez, and Johan Bolden.  Wake me up when there's an actual NBA player in the game.

Its the summer league. We all know where this vision is coming from. Were you entering this thread to type your smartass comment in the expectation that he would suddenly be facing a pair of starting NBA bigs in a meaningless pre-season competition in Las Vegas?

For what its worth, Bolden looks very much like he could be a useful big in the NBA.

This forum sometimes.

Not to mention these are very similar stats to what he was putting up in Europe Pro Leagues. Is it really insane at this point to recognize that Zizic is a great rebounder and has some potential on offense?

I'll go with he has potential on both. I've just been through this too many times to call anyone great before seeing him play in the pros.

Having said that, my feeling is that SL is about eliminating non-players as it finding those who will make it, and he's definitely not in the former category.

My hope is Z can fill a roll off the bench as a banging rebounder along the lines of Baynes, with the potential to develop into a bigger roll in the future.  He is just twenty and has room to improve in all areas.

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
He said he loves the game. He seems to work hard. I am hopeful he will do well. I hope he can play in some G league games when the schedule permits.

I kept rewatching that highlight reel until Ante had 57 points and 24 rebounds.

Ante Zizic nickname...

A to Z  (?) Just as odd as 7/11

One thing I can see from the games already is that Zizic goes and gets the ball.  He looks like a slow leaper but at least he goes for it, something I always hated about Olynyk.  If the ball wasn't coming right to Olynyk, it was someone else's or was hitting the floor.  Tatum and Zizic attack every rebound.

On the other hand, Zizic looks painfully bad offensively and really slow.

I really don't think he looks THAT slow. I think people are just used to these guards flying up and down the floor at 160MPH in the SL.

The real NBA will be a lot more of a half-court game and he'll be fine. There's actual sets, and they actually run an offense. That's why he's looking better in the last couple games. The team has obviously been practicing and playing a lot more like an actual NBA team than a glorified pick-up game.

I'm telling everyone that Zizic couldn't any be worse than Zeller or Amir. Only 20 and seems already better at providing skillset this team this team desperately need.

He is better than Zeller right now.
