Here is an excellent article on Jaylen Brown: https://theundefeated.com/features/celtics-jaylen-brown-host-event-2017-nba-summer-league/

He is hosting an event for young NBA stars this week in Vegas, and everything is on him.

The article mentions his many hobbies and interests and even talked about his big plans: He wants to be President of the Players Association!  I did not know that this was one of his goals but it definitely says a lot about him as a leader.

Other players, and coach Stevens talk about his leadership in the article and talk about how great of a person he is.

He has helped Jayson Tatum greatly over the last few weeks and has made the trasnition to the NBA alot easier for Tatum.

It is nice to see he is building close relationships with other young studs in the league and I have a feeling that he is already a great ambassador of the Boston Celtics.

I can see him really being able to speak highly about the organization and the coaches, and maybe on day, might get some young studs to come the Celtics to play with him.

Overall, I am very impressed by this young man and I think that one day, he will be the Captain of the Celtics.  I also really hope that he achieves all of his goals on and off the court because the kid deserves.

The article does not talk about this, but Jaylen is already an extremely hard-worker and cares about getting better.  I hope he is around for many many years because it is a pleasure having him on my favorite team.

It's so important to me that I actually like the people on the team I root for, and JB seems like a  great person, a mature young man, and a natural leader with tons of talent.

You posted a lot more than I did in the other thread lol. I see No need to delete.

I do like  what I see. I think this is partially the beginning of marketing his name to players for when he runs for the players union president. He's networking and getting his name out there. If players respect you I think it's great for the team as well. He can help recruit others

Definitely agree with you here.

Jaylen strikes me as the type of player that other players want to play with, especially if he becomes a star player (with his work ethic, sky is the limit).

It would be great to have a Celtics player represent the Players Association.

Not sure how long the NBPA has been around, but has a Celtic ever been president?

My only worry this year is that both JT and JB handle the possible "sibling rivalry" well.  It's quite possible that one will emerge as the more ready or better prospect.  The other (hopefully) will deal with that with continued hard work and positive competitiveness. Hopefully both continue to support the other with no resentment at the other's success.  I especially worry if "little brother" (Jayson) surpasses big brother.  Hopefully no worry is needed.  One way to address this is for the coaching staff to emphasize to each their strengths and differences - the unique value each can add to the team.

I just began reading up on it

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Basketball_Players_Association

Bob Cousy and a friend helped create the players union: http://www.apbr.org/labor.html

cousy Was the first president, tommy heinsohn was the 2nd president. Another Celtic was Paul Silas who was the 4th president

would be cool to see him carry the presidency that was started by Celtic legends
