We obviously have the better bench but be honest who's got the better starting five.

Well... during their commendable run, Dion Waiters was their by far and a way best player. Yet he is gone in any scenario where they get Hayward.

So Yeah, Boston. He could replace our second weakest link aka Crowder. It's US.

Johnson would likely be gone too. Unless he would take a ridiculous discount.

C's hands down.

Celtics, and it's not even close. There's a reason we've swept the Heat the last two years - they're an average team at best.

Just like in 2015 with Atlanta, people are greatly over-exaggerating a hot streak that Miami went on. We even beat them during their hot streak.

Thank you Potter for getting the legwork out of the way. There is a reason we made the playoffs and they didn't.  We are a much better team, and Hayward knows it. In pure Basketball terms, it's us and everybody else. Hayward would be 1a on a team that already was 1st in the East. That isn't a minor feat.

That wouldn't be our starting 5, but I'd take our starting 5 over the Heat's lineup any day.

Horford > Whiteside
Crowder > Who replaces Johnson?
Thomas > Dragic
Bradley > Johnson

Horford is quite simply a better all-around player than the stat padding Whiteside. Numbers look great, but Whiteside doesn't rotate on D, fails to contest perimeter shooters,  and is a ball stopper/reluctant passer evidence by his 92 TOTAL career assists in in 5891 career minutes.

  • GOT IT!!!
There really is no doubt who the better team is now and in the future. I would never doubt Riley's ability to nab free agents but Hayward has to know Miami is the worst team of the 3.

I read somewhere that Johnson was willing to take a paycut to stay with miami IF they signed Hayward.

But yeah, Waiters would likely be gone, and some team may overpay for him.

Celtics roster is BETTER.

Isaiah is alone better than each of their starting 5, and Horford can do a lot on the floor while Whiteside is honestly sort of limited. He's still a great player though, not denying that.

I like the Zizic team better on paper but we don't know if you can really play it.

Zizic
Horford
Hayward
Bradley
Thomas

I'm not a homer, but I think it's easily the Celtics.

We'd look a heck of a lot better with Paul George, but hopefully we can salvage this off-season.
