Summer league's number means nothing but still something to see(my take-prediction)

Josh Jackson:
As expected Jackson can no longer rely on his athletism to just tank to the paint, and nor is his 3 ball good enough, so he has to rely on midrange/Floater and cutting, driving closeouts, he has the touch and dribble to do those, but that's it,he didn't have enough skill to score constantly

If developed well his ceiling is a Butler-like all-star (for that he needs to learn to buy fouls and make the fts..), no domination

Fox:
He has scorer's instinct and touch, he can score everywhere except the 3, with his speed and floaters he would very likely be a wade-type(worse 3 shooting, better passing and defense) allstar, and he is also a KG like voice leader which is a big plus for his team
On the other hand in the new NBA a scoring guard who can't shoot 3s is a big disadvantage
and his size/length will hold back his overall impact despite his great defense

So my take is both has fairly allstar potential(not going to bust like Ball), Jackson's uncertainty is higher, and Both are lesser project than Tatum (superstar potential with high ceiling and low risk)

Nice rundown, I've only watched Celtics SL games so far.  Going into the draft, I had a lot more confidence that Fox would be an impact player than Jackson.  That said, we know the limitations of making too much of SL.

How about Devin Harris as a comp for Fox?

A butler like all star for Jackson is hardly a knock.  Pretty much every team would take that.  I would imagine that tatum's ceiling is very similar.  That is, unless you want to paint his ceiling as combination of Jordan, lebron, and wilt.

Jackson better athlete than Butler but I don't think he'll ever score as efficiently.

Too soon to project how Tatum will project. Played great first too games but struggled 3rdgame with Brown out and all the focus was on him. He may need a partner on the floor to be successful.

I tried watching the whole PHX game last night because I want to see what the Celtics missed out on. plus I have interest in seeing Jackson fail, only because I have an ethical problem with kids coming into the league picking and choosing where they want to go, when they should just be happy they're getting drafted.

but every time I turned the game on i'd see Jackson doing nothing, in fact on most possessions it seemed he wasn't even involved offensively or even defensively for that matter. so I don't know what to make of this guy other than the guys drafted before him seemed to be showcased and given the opportunity to shine.

I did not watch the whole game so i'm basing this off of what I did see, for all I know he finished with 30 pts. and 20 rebounds. if that didn't happen so far i'd say its Celtics 1 Jackson 0.

Imo Tatum's ceiling is quite a bit higher (Pierce/GHill hybrid>>>Butler imo)
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

Yea.  Maybe he needs another big passing man who can shoot 3's (Horford).  Or a super quick point guard who can find him on his spots and cuts (IT4).

Needing teammates is not a limitation, it is the Celtics way.  Good pick for Danny Ainge.

He only had 18 points and 8 rebounds.  He shot pretty poorly but his team won.

He blew by some guys in this video.

Still, I am glad we took Tatum over him.  I think still Jackson has a higher ceiling ( because he lacks skill and this tends to be what people develop over time  and slighty more athletic)  but ceilings are not always reached.   I think many were right and I was wrong in that Tatum was more NBA ready.

Fox looked great.  But has not mastered the three point shot.

I watched the game last night and Fox was the man!  It's easy to tell that he is going to be a great leader in the NBA.  His mid-range jumper was on point and of course speed was his biggest advantage.  I think Fox has the potential to be as good as any player in the this years draft.

I'm rooting for Fox to do well. He seems like a really good kid. Super charismatic. Very likable.

Am totally with you on this. He played with the poise and confidence that I didn't see from Jackson or Ball.
