I want PG 13,and Hayward. Much more versatile with Hayward at 2/3 and George at 3/4. I also think George is a much better off the ball player than Butler.

Crowder, Zeller #3 for george

George has a higher ceiling butler was the better player this year and has an extra year of cheapish control.

George fits better with Hayward.

Neither, please neither. I have no interest in watching the Celtics lose in 7 to the Cavs.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

George.

I think with our particular needs and Hayward more than likely coming here already, Butler is pretty much useless for this team. George is much more versatile and a better fit for our team.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if Danny and Brad are trying to put together the ultimate small-ball unit of IT, Brown, Hayward, George, and Horford.

I've got to say, that would be extremely, extremely difficult to guard. We'd also be a handful defensively too with that incredible athleticism and length.

Rebounding might be an issue, though.  :P

For rebounding you can go big with

IT/Smart
Hayward /Jaylen
PG13.     /Jaylen
Horford
Zicic

Plus ring chasers

If it's PG13, how does that affect IT's contract next year?

Also if it's PG13, Ainge wants to make sure the Cavs can't jump in and try and make any deals. I believe you can play PG13 and Hayward together. That's a match up nightmare for the Cavs.

The Celtics would have 3 go-to guys in IT, PG13 and Hayward. How do you defend that?

I don't believe this move is for Butler.

Crowder, Zeller #3 for george

Remember in order for us to maintain cap room for a max player we need to send out as much salary as we get back. This would be 14.8 mil for 19.51 mil (pg13). In order for us to do this we would have to add another 4.7 mil and only 2 other players are around that in smart and jaylen. Not sure I'm ready to give up on smart and definitely not jaylen. Or we could send Bradley(expiring after '17-'18) zeller rozier d jackson plus the 3rd for pg13. That'll leave us with Crowders handy contract and we won't lose AB when he expires
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

Why do we want a bunch of beta males? Those ****ers aren't winning **** against the Warriors.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

The more I think about it, the more I love the look of a lineup of IT, Brown, Hayward, George, and Horford. I mean, that's pretty much exactly how the Warriors are built. Green is definitely more of a PF than George, but I think PG can play PF full-time in this modern NBA.

I think that'd almost assuredly mean that the Cavs trade Love for Melo, too, because they'd have to try and matchup with us. Their current lineup has no shot at defending us out on the perimeter.

If we land Paul George... I'll eat my words.  But this is looking like terrible return so far...

But if we can get George for #3 this year, say the Celtics 18, and matching salary.  Maybe even throw in Smart in that package.  I'd be ok with the lead-up move.  But we need FIREWORKS to make this deal worth it Danny!!

I'll be happy with either, tbh.

Butler is ironically one of the more underrated players on this board actually. PG gets a lot of credit because he's had more career playoff success (pre-injury) but Butler is a beast, especially on defense, is almost never injured, and on offense, he gets superstar calls as well. Plus, didn't Cavs go 0-4 against the Bulls last season or something?

Honestly, I'd rather have Butler than Hayward.

That would simply be amazing. Even more amazing if we could keep both Smart and Crowder on the bench.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
